OnChurch

Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy

What we store on your device — and, just as important, what we don't.

Effective date: July 26, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 26, 2026

The short version: OnChurch uses only strictly necessary storage to sign you in and remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, marketing pixels, cross-app tracking, or any nonessential tracking technologies. Because we do not use nonessential cookies, we do not show a cookie-consent banner.

1. Scope

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies used by the OnChurch public website, the web application (the church admin dashboard and member area, including when viewed inside the mobile app's built-in browser view), and identifiers used by the mobile app.

2. Public website

Our public website and the public church/school pages use minimal storage:

TechnologyTypePurposeCategory
oc_langCookie (about 1 year)Remembers your language choice (English/Spanish) on a church's public pageStrictly necessary / preference
Fonts, icons, and code librariesLoaded from CDNs (Google Fonts, unpkg)Delivers the page's fonts, icons, and app code; these providers see standard request data (such as IP address) needed to serve the fileStrictly necessary

We do not place advertising or analytics cookies on the public website.

3. Web application (admin dashboard & member area)

When you sign in, we use browser local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep you logged in and remember basic app state:

KeyPurposeCategory
Authentication token (managed by our sign-in provider)Keeps you securely signed in so you don't re-enter your password on every screenStrictly necessary / authentication
Selected church & language (e.g., active workspace, language)Remembers which church workspace and language you're usingStrictly necessary / preference
Referral code (only if you arrived via a partner link)Attributes a partner referralFunctional

These are essential to operate the app. There are no analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies. When the church admin area is opened inside the mobile app's web view, the same essential storage applies.

4. Mobile app identifiers

The mobile app is not a website and does not use browser cookies for tracking. It uses:

IdentifierPurposeCategory
Push-notification device tokenLets us deliver the notifications you enable; stored only after you allow notificationsStrictly necessary / functional
Local app storage (session & preferences)Keeps you signed in and remembers preferences on your deviceStrictly necessary

The app does not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA), does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It therefore does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

5. What we do not use

If this ever changes and we introduce a nonessential cookie or tracking technology, we will update this policy and, where consent is legally required, present a clear consent choice that lets you accept or reject nonessential technologies on equal terms, with no preselected boxes, before those technologies load.

6. Managing storage

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and you can disable app notifications in your device settings. Clearing the authentication token will simply sign you out. Because we use only strictly necessary storage, there is no separate consent to withdraw.
